What is 'Job Shop Office'?
Job Shop Office is the most easy to learn and most affordable job shop software solution out there today. Job Shop Office was created by the need and demand of various kinds of job shops for repeatable process/planning/specification data for the parts they make or process for commercial clients and the aerospace industry. This meant that they could enter repeat orders for a part and have the same information print on their shop traveler, certification and invoice forms as the previous jobs, without redundant typing (and typographical errors). But it also meant having the ability to customize processes and data for orders without compromising original master processes. They needed to be able to put the same specification into many processes, and update the spec without having to search and modify each process. They wanted their printed forms to be laid out clearly, easy to read, and with their company's logos, trademarks and accreditations included. They wanted more: A quoting system that would dovetail exactly with the order entry system. An invoicing and billing procedure that is simple yet accurate. A job costing system that reflected the reality of their operation. A purchasing/payables system equally simple and accurate, that would tie in to their job costing needs. A solid yet easy to use general ledger system to manage their company's finances. And they needed it to be simple and easy to use for unsophisticated office workers - i.e. normal people (computer geeks not required - but it will please even them).

- with JSO's feature to print your forms on plain paper with all of your formatting and logo, you can eliminate the cost of continually buying pre-printed forms. Also, you can fax and/or e-mail them to your clients and vendors, saving clerical time, envelopes and postage.
- similarly, since you have the option in JSO to 'view' all of the reports in Windows Wordpad (or the word processor of your choice), you can edit and send copies of reports using your e-mail or fax programs.
Other features may help you make more money, by making your shop more attractive to existing and potential clients.
- JSO allows access to image files (i.e. pictures), linking them with your jobs and/or job items. These images can be printed on your forms or with your forms, or just stored with the job records.
